Today, for the first time I got a report claiming I was coming back about 100Hz high in frequency on SSB (USB). I received him spot on at the frequency he had on his dial and returned to him without any RIT or split function activated. This was an experienced ham, so this has me concerned. I have the 2.00 firmware.

How could he tell? When tuning in an SSB signal, the frequency could vary by + or - 100Hz or more according to personal taste, especially if you don't know what the other guy's voice really sounds like.

The harmonics of the voice, there was an interesting QEX article using this
as the basis of code for auto-tuning SSB signals. Hi Simon
Don't have the article in front of me, but if it says what I think it does, we used that technique back in the 60's when I ran a Heathkit SB100 transceiver. Worked a lot of DX with it, and was nearly always spot on their frequency. Worked really well. 73, Bob N6WG ----- Original Message ----- From: "Simon Brown (HB9DRV)" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Saturday, June 07, 2008 2:52 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3: TX off frequency > The harmonics of the voice, there was an interesting QEX article using this > as the basis of code for auto-tuning SSB signals. > > January 1999, Tune SSB Automatically by Robert Dick > > Simon Brown, HB9DRV > > -------------------------------------------------- > From: "G4ILO" <[hidden email]> > > > > How could he tell? > > > _______________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Post to: [hidden email] > You must be a subscriber to post to the list. > Subscriber Info (Addr.
