Hi,
I am proud owner of K3 #4516 and have a question. I have two mics I like to use. One is the Yamaha CM-500 headset w/mic. It is plugged into the back of the K3 (CONFIG/RPL Bias). I have worked to get the audio sounding like I want it and have determined the gain and comp as well as the setting for the TX equalizer. I also have a Heil HM-10 Dual mic plugged into he front (FPH no bias) with a Heil Kenwood connector. I haven't spent much time with this combo as yet. I would like to know if it's possible to store the mic settings for these two mics so that I don't have to reset all the parameters manually. If it's possible, be specific as I'm very new to this rig and am learning as I go. ...bc nr4c ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Bill,
Right now, the TX EQ settings will be the same for the FP and RP mic inputs, so you will have to compromise. I believe separate setting are "on the list", but they have not rippled to the top. While separate TX EQ settings for the FP and RP inputs would be ideal, you could do it in a series of macros from K3Utility. 73, Don W3FPR Bill Conkling wrote: > Hi, > > > > I am proud owner of K3 #4516 and have a question. > > > > I have two mics I like to use. Or you can do it with one macro if you use DXLab's Commander rig control
program. I have one that switches between front and back mic inputs with different mic gain, compression, and TX EQ. Bill,
Use K3-EZ ( http://home.roadrunner.com/~n2bc/SW.htm ). This allows saving up to four separate equalizer settings. 73, Tom N2CU <>< K3 #3582 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

This may have already been answered, but there is a K3 "macro" capability
that allows you to store a string of K3 commands and invoke them with a button press of the PF1, PF2, or tap/hold of M1-M4. You can have 10 such "macros" available at a time. The K3 Utility offers a "command macro" editor that allows you to develop and test and store into your K3 a string of K3 commands. You might use two of these "macros" to select your back panel and front panel microphones, their bias settings, and perhaps Tx EQ settings. There are examples of Command Macros in the K3 Utility Help = see the "command tester" page and the related "command macro editor" section. You'll find the K3 Programmer's Reference an invaluable source of information on those K3 commands. If you need help getting this going, send me the specifics of your preferred Tx EQ settings for each microphone and I'll send you something to get you started. 73 de Dick, K6KR ; -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Bill Conkling Sent: Sunday, August 15, 2010 4:15 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K3 TX settings Hi, I am proud owner of K3 #4516 and have a question.
