K3 Tuning Rates

Neal
The available tuning rates, for the K3, provide something for everyone.  The problem I had was figuring out all of my options and how to get them.  Maybe this will be of some help to others.  Hopefully I didn't build any errors into here.  :-)

There are four tuning rates (Hz per knob revolution) accessible by front panel buttons.  LetÂ’s refer to them as R1-R4.  The rates may be accessed by the following buttons and actions:

R1       Tap FINE for a display resolution of 0.001
R2       Tap FINE for a display resolution of 0.01 or RATE for 0.01
R3       Tap RATE for a display resolution of 0.1 or hold COARSE for 0.01
R4       Hold COARSE for a display resolution of 0.1

The CONFIG: VFO CRS, CTS, and FST menu settings determine the combination of rates for R1-R4 according to the following scheme:

  R1       CTS in Hz
  R2       10X CTS
  R3       20X CTS when FST = 20
             50X CTS when FST = 50
  R4       50kHz when CRS = 0.5
             100kHz when CRS = 1.0

I created a table for my own reference, but putting a table in an email usually doesn't work, so I will let you have the fun of creating your own.

Thanks....and per our email, I've posted the table as an html file at

http://zerobeat.net/qrp/k3-tuningrates.htm

If anyone else has information that they feel would benefit Elecraft
users and they need some space on the web for it, drop me a line.
