K3 Users

Chuck Teeter KE9CE
Hello:

I¹m not a K3 owner yet, but I would like to chat with someone local who uses
one.  I¹m interested in actually seeing the radio and getting some first
hand reviews.  I¹ve been out of the hobby for a number of years and am
finally returning.  I live in the Joliet, IL, area, so anybody within 50
miles of Joliet would work.  Thanks.

I had been out of the hobby....or maybe I should say, "less
interested".....for several years and a good friend of mine Andy, KD3RF
recommended that I get a K3.  It has really reignited my interest and opened
up a whole new level of the hobby to me.

While I am nowhere near your location, I can tell you that the K3 is the
most technically advanced and interesting to work with radio on the market.
Elecraft's "let them tinker with it and have input into the design" attitude
is a big part of this.  It is great having a radio that gets new features
added and small improvement added every few weeks.

While the K3 is not the sexiest radio on the market, it is definitely the
one for me.

And Elecraft has one other thing going for it that no other radio
manufacture has.  It has this list and the international community of highly
technical radio operators that follow this list.  You will never be bored
with this radio or the endless debates on this list about what needs to be
improved.  The comments can get painfully detailed at times, but you will
always get help of guidance with an issue and the folks at Elecraft will
always be listening and improving the radio to make it better.

I hope you find someone in your area that can show you the radio, but all
you really have to do is follow this list a while and you will find yourself
wanting the radio.
