A new K3 Utility version 1.1.4.1 has been made available on the Elecraft web
site http://www.elecraft.com/K3/k3_software.htm for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This new version has three major features: A new Front Panel Flash (FPF) firmware loader. Starting with MCU version 1.79, some large data tables will be moved to a front-panel flash memory device ("FPF"). This frees up space for many new firmware features. A new Crystal Filter Configuration dialog, which is accessed from the Configuration tab page. (This feature is currently available only in the Windows version of the K3 Utility). A simple terminal emulator which may be helpful for simple CW, RTTY, and PSK communications. It uses the K3s internal text decoding functions. MCU firmware improvements are planned that will make the terminal function easier and more convenient to use. (This feature is currently available only in the Windows version of the K3 Utility). K3 Utility Help describes these features in more detail. The Firmware page has a new FPF row for the Front Panel Flash firmware file. IMPORTANT NOTE: The FPF Available Version will be Missing until MCU 1.79 and the corresponding FPF firmware file are published. This is to be expected. This new K3 Utility Version can load earlier firmware versions. This new K3 Utility version is REQUIRED to load MCU version 1.79 (and later). Earlier K3 Utility versions do not have the FPF firmware load capability. Thank you! The dialog was initially developed by Brian, W6FVI, who should
take credit for the inspiration for this. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Ian J Maude Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2008 2:12 PM To: 'Elecraft' Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3 Utility Version 1.1.4.1 available (round 3) Dick Dievendorff wrote: > A new Crystal Filter Configuration dialog, which is accessed from the > Configuration tab page.
