Hi folks,
After many years of owning my K3, I'm considering selling it. What is their value on the used market? Mine is one of the early factory-built units (SN 711) with zero HW mods. Has a 1 KHz and 400 HZ 8-pole CW filters and the KPA-100 power amp. It is in mint condition, having spent the vast majority of it's life powered off and stored under a cover. I think new cost for my rig is $2400 or $2500. Are these rigs fetching 90% of new cost? 80%? 70%? - Keith - N1AS K3 SN 711 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Yes, depending on serial number and working conditions.

If anyone is wanting to sell an Elecraft, do the work and go through
the Elecraft reflector archives looking for "K3" and "for sale". It's my impression that a lot of (most?) sales show up here on the reflector. They go quickly. You will need to compare the prices based upon the individual list of modules/filters to get an average discount to retail for your rig. 73, Guy On Wed, Apr 20, 2011 at 9:25 AM, spitze1 <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hi! > > I think about 70% or 80% off is a good deal!! > > 73s Alex NH7VW > > -- > View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/K3-Value-on-the-used-market-tp6287724p6290686.html > Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
I think your serial # is quite low and that no mods had been done. (going
from memory now) This implies that there are a few mods that should be done to bring it up to the current spec. Perhaps this will impact the sale price? Keith,
I just purchased a K3/P3 combo on eBay for just under $3000. The rig is a K3/100, s/n 281, with general coverage receiver, auto tuner, 600 Hz filter, which the seller built himself. The P3 was factory-assembled. He also included the Heil ProSet-2 head phones and all necessary cables. Just thought this might help provide you benchmark for the numbers you seek. 73 es gud luck, Ian Kahn, AK4IK K3 #281, P3 #688 Roswell, GA |
