Hello,
Did I read somewhere that Elecraft are going to produce a matching amplifier for the K3 or did I again suffer from an over active imagination?...(or perhaps wishful thinking) If I really did read such an item, then my memory is telling me it was to be 800W...??..again, I am in Australia and we are unpside down I guess so the blood runs to the head pretty good. Appreciate it if anyone can let me know if this is correct and perhaps sometime of availablity? the K3/100 is such a great radio I can't believe it has taken me so long to learn about Elecraft. cheers, Gary VK4WT -- Stokers...we get ya goin' _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. You're thinking of the announced, but not yet available, KPA800 and KPA1500. Type KPA800 into Google to find some info. Development of the K3 has taken precedence over the amps. Whether they ever will come into production after the K3 situation stabilises only Wayne or Eric can say. I believe they were intended to be kits, but I read here recently that one of the major issues beta testers found was a tendency for the expensive PA transistors to behave as if they were fuses.

Hmm, I didn't hear that. Since there aren't any beta testers, I don't believe it either. What Eric said was that they simply don't have the resources to produce the amplifiers and keep up with the demand for K3's, so the amplifier will be delayed. I've seen a prototype, and it's very nice, although they will not be cheap. -- 73, Vic, K2VCO Fresno CA http://www.qsl.net/k2vco _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. OK. You may be right. It was a only rumour. Here's where I saw it: http://www.nabble.com/Re%3A-Elecraft-at-Dayton-p17321753.html
