K3 and 2m amp ptt

Rajiv Dewan-2
Hello all,

I would like to have PTT out signal from my K3 that is ONLY activated when the internal K144XV transverter is transmitting.  I thought I might use the KRC2 with the K7MDL mod where the 8R signal is used to generate a band specific PTT output.  The problem: where do I find an 8R or equivalent (I guess 5R will do) signal on the exterior of the K3?  Can a pin on the ACC connector be used for this purpose?

BTW, I tried building a small interface that activates the amp PTT when a 5V shows on the transverter output.  Problem: 5V is on transverter output when K3 transmit on any band.

Other ideas?

Thanks,
Raj, N2RD

Re: K3 and 2m amp ptt

Don Wilhelm
Raj,

A simple logic circuit to detect all zeros on the 4 band data lines and
the presence of Keyout-lp would do that task easily.
