K3 and RFspace SDR-IQ?

K3PIN
Can anyone tell me their experience using the K3 with the RF space SDR-IQ? I emailed the company for info and so far I am not impressed with their lack of response to my inquiry. Is this the type of support I'll get if I purchase one?

Since Moe updated the software it is now officially brilliant. You can't do better for the price and their support is as good as Elecraft.

Agreed.  SpectraVue/SDR-IQ and K3 operate seamlessly.
Except for a couple software packages that poll excessively,
it is quite easy to share the serial connection to  K3 for a
a logging program and SpectraVue using the free Enterlogic
serial splitter (or N8LP's "LP-Bridge").

Re: K3 and RFspace SDR-IQ?

Few questions.

1. Does SDR-IQ have to be connected physically via serial or can it be virtual serial via USB?

2. Can clicking on SDR-IQ windows change VFO A or B?

3. Is there a way to tune SDR-IQ via cursor keys?

PowerSDR has NB and NR. Is it important?

SDR-IQ is connected to the computer via USB only.  SpectraVue
can use either the serial port on SDR-IQ or a virtual port to
connect to the K3.

VFO A only at the present.

yes, highlight a digit in the frequency and change
it with up arrow/down arrow.  Change digits/tuning
step with left/right arrow.

> PowerSDR has NB and NR. Is it important?

SpectraVue has NB but no NR.  Since I don't generally
listen to the audio from SDR-IQ, it is not important
to me.

Re: K3 and RFspace SDR-IQ?

K3PIN
HI  Joe,

I currently have the K3 hooked up to the computer and a SteppIR via a serial Y splitter.  How could I hook up the SDR-IQ for rig control in my situation?

SDR-IQ is connected to the computer via USB only.  SpectraVue
can use either the serial port on SDR-IQ or a virtual port to
connect to the K3.
