The SignaLink device does not contain a serial port, so it won't
substitute for the KUSB.
The SignaLink does contain a "soundcard" that makes it easy to dedicate
to the K3 for digital mode operation. OTOH, if your PC already has a
soundcard, you can just use a pair of 3.5MM (1/8"_ stereo patch cables
between the PC and the LINE IN and OUT jacks on the back fo the K3 and
not need the SignaLink or any other soundcard interface dive (e.g.,
RigBlaster).
I have used the SignaLink USB with various radios here in the shack and
it works very well for what it is intended to do.
