K3 and microHAM Station Master

David F. Reed-2
Folks, in desperation, I turn to this helpful list; I am having trouble
with my setup which includes a K3, an Icom PW-1 and a microHAM Station
Master.

I finally got around to setting up my Station Master, and have run into
a series of problems which I am hoping to resolve so that I can start
enjoying my SM.

The set up: I am using a K3 transceiver and an Icom PW-1 amplifier,
something SM is supposed to do.

On initial hook up and router configuration, PTT would work and no alarm
light came on.  The amp would not track or follow the K3 band changes, etc.

I updated the Router software, and checked my configuration (this is
where I complain that the user's manual is not up to date with the
router software).

My first problem: The Alarm light stays on now (not flashing).

If I select PA status for the second display line, it shows : PA - no
control (which is true, but sad).

I decided to try a firmware upgrade; this is when my next problem, a
real show stopper, came in:
Upgrading to firmware revision 2.8 bombs about halfway through, and
leaves SM dead.
Trying to restore to revision 2.2 bombs immediately, and leaves SM dead.

The net result, no microcode in the unit, no use to me, unable to fix it
from here with the little I know.

Any help getting things running would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and 73 de Dave, W5SV
