K3 audio distortion

Jan Babinec
 Dear fellow Elecrafters,
I think this topic has fallen into oblivion somehow.
Have been using my MD-7506 for many years now with absolute satisfaction either for ham purposes or music.
Not so in combination with K3! In fact the audio sounds terrible. I tried a cheap PC headphones with 32ohm
(MDR-7506 have 64ohm) and they indeed sound much better. Could this be because of lower impedance,
 limited frequency response or both?
Is there a solution for the poor guys with too good headphones?

Re: K3 audio distortion

I have the same experience with the Heil Proset ic. Adjustments to TX audio of 2.4K and 3.2K seem to have the most impact.
