K3 - beautiful audio!

Dave, G4AON
There have been various comments on the SSB audio from the K3 in recent
times. I use a Kenwood MC-43S dynamic fist microphone with some
compression and equalisation. I was in QSO this morning and the station
I was working was very impressed with the audio, without prompting he
said the audio was beautiful and sounded very nice.

Settings:

Mic gain: 30
Compression: 20
Equaliser: 50 Hz -8dB, 100 Hz -4dB, 200 Hz 0dB, 400 Hz +2dB, 800 Hz
+2dB, 1.6 KHz +5dB, 2.4 KHz +7dB, 3.2 KHz +2dB.

I have a fairly deep gravelly voice, so wasn't really expecting such
compliments!

How did you determine the settings you use?

I know the K3 is the greatest thing since sliced
bread, but apparently it now filters gravel too? :-)
