K3 data on 30m defaults to LSB?

It appears that the K3 defaults to LSB for Data on 30m not USB which is a problem for some software that I use - anyone else noticed this or am I doing something wrong? To get things to work I have to turn on REV which is a pain as every time the software QSY's the radio it turns REV off again.
