K3 default frequency

VE3NFK
Hi

There must be a stupid simple answer to this  - but I can't find it.....

When I turn on my K3 - I want the 160 m freq to be 740 khz  - but it
defaults to 1150 khz...    just tried again   - set freq to 740 - turn off K3
turned on   - 1150.   It 'used' to be fine.

I am sure I missed something in the manual -

Thanks in advance

John VE3NFK

- ps really happy with the K3 and KPA500 and 4 el SteppIR  - got K9W  W8A  S21ZBC and Z81X in the past 10 daysfairly easily...

John,

Try doing a band change after setting the VFO to 740 kHz.  It should
remember the VFO frequency after a power cycle.

Re: K3 default frequency

Thanks Don   - but no  - that did not work :

radio on 740

changed to 20 m  14.010

powered off with power switch

powered on:  14.010

changed bands down to the '160m' band - 30/40/80 ok on proper frequencies but back to 1.150 on bottom band

Re: K3 default frequency - fixed

VE3NFK
Gary of Elecraft suggested trying the 2 VFO's A and B and seeing if that would work
before doing a EEINIT.

I am pleased to report that fixed the problem.. tuned VFO A to 740 khz  - then A>B
then powered off and on and it kept the 740 freq

Thanks Gary!
