K3 digital modes

Alan Grant
Good morning Elecrafters

I have not been able to make my K3 decode digital signals, and have seen
many posts talking about Tigertronics Signalink USB, do I deed one of these
or some other device

To get into PSK31 etc, or do I need to fun some software to get things
going. I see that many stations are using these modes and I would like to
get involved as well

Your assistance will be gratefully appreciated.

Alan Grant

Alan,

You do not need any interface.  The only thing you need is a soundcard.
The K3 contains isolating transformers on the Line In and Kine Out rear
jacks.
Just connect 2 stereo cables between the soundcard and those jacks. You
can operate with VOX instead of PTT.  Set the Data sub-mode to DATA A.

Yes, you will need a computer application - try Fldigi or Ham Radio
Deluxe/DM780.
