Okay...I'm here at work...since 1:30am today and I am out of
steam...but I have another meeting in 30 minutes or so. So I drifted into Elecraft land as a diversion. It seems that the highest SN who has gone public is #75 (but with lots of other unaccounted for). And we know that production run 1 was supposed to include SN < 200 (or was it 220?). And we know that the first 20 were supposed to be Beta units. So that means 200-75-20 = at least 105 K3's to get out in the next two weeks (at least one day of which is a holiday here in the States)..or at least before the Nov 30 date for production run #2 (or the week of...so add another day). That would be about 10 a day (M-F). Sounds not unreasonable. That will represent quite a leap in production over the previous month. Here's hoping that it happens. de Doug KR2Q _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. To help prolong your Elecraft S/N math diversion, I have S/N 00017 which is
a production unit, not field test. 73, Ed - W0YK > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] > [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of DOUGLAS ZWIEBEL > Sent: Friday, 16 November, 2007 10:32 > To: [hidden email] > Subject: [Elecraft] K3: doing the math > > Okay...I'm here at work...since 1:30am today and I am out of > steam...but I have another meeting in 30 minutes or so. 10 a day?
Hard to see how they could stay in business making 10 a day. Brett N2DTS > That would be about 10 a day (M-F). As long as I get my K3 sometime before the sunspots get back, I'll be happy...

By the German Tank Theorem [http://tinyurl.com/2e94hb] using the data
from the zerobeat serial number list, there are probably about 80 K3's, if you count the FT units as part of the sequence. Oone of the assumptions of the GTT is violated: we know that there are out-of-sequence numbers, both in the +/- small integer range due to the front panel issue, and because of a small number of vanity numbers, so it could be +/- 5 assuming they keep the front panels in order in batches of 5. 73, Leigh/WA5ZNU On Fri, 16 Nov 2007 11:54 am, DOUGLAS ZWIEBEL wrote: > Okay...I'm here at work...since 1:30am today and I am out of > steam...but I have another meeting in 30 minutes or so. Interesting that W1AW on other side of continent was 599 at 0400Z on 7049 using a 20 ft piece of hookup wire as an ant, inside a building! 100% copy using txt decode. Hint: on txt decode, use narrowest possible dsp passband, I was using 50 Hz under a std 2.7Khz xtal filter. So, Why wasn't there any other activity on 40???
