Wayne,
Thank you for resolving an old issue that arose when I first
explained my dual-polarity diversity receiver for eme. Critical for
this is that the two K3 receivers are freq. locked (have zero
offset). I am modifying my two LP-Pan to run off a single xtal
oscillator so they will be phase-locked, as well. The LP-Pan xosc
runs at 32.836 MHz (4x the K3 IF) as sampling clock for the LP-Pan
SDR. I will run 96-KHz bw for diversity reception on 144-MHz.
Full details:
http://www.kl7uw.com/LINRAD.htmI have been informed that my new dual-receive 2m transverter was
shipped, yesterday from DEMI. That was the last remaining piece of
the system. I will still have a lot of testing and sw settings to
work out for the system to be QRV, but getting closer.
Eventually, the DEMI transverter will have a PLL using an ext.
reference like the K3.

All signal sources are phase locked to this reference, Mike.
The other factor is synth DDS resolution, which is about 1/5th Hz, and
can lead to about a +/- 1 Hz error, worst case, during operation.
However, in diversity mode, both synths are set to the same DDS
digital word, so there's zero offset. (This is not true of some other
radios claiming to do diversity.)
