K3 :: headset choice

Steve Jackson-5
I needed a new headset to go with my new K3.  I decided to experiment, since I wanted something different, but it had to be *very* nice in order to 'beat' the Heil Pro-Set Plus which was the alternative.  My requirements: extremely comfortable, great aesthetics, well-made, top sound performance, serviceable, innovative, good value.  So, I went with the Sennheiser PC350.  Plugged it right into the K3, turned the bias on, adjusted the EQ, and I am one happy camper.  I'll take the $$ I saved and put it towards another roofing filter!

I got one a Sennheiser PC350 a couple of weeks ago.  I think it's the best
of the
boom microphone/headsets.  Definitely the most comfortable, and the headset
has a fair amount of passive noise reduction.  I'd give them a 5 out of 5.
Also another happy camper here.

You all might pass along what your EQ settings were changed to so there
is a point of reference for everyone.

Re: K3 :: headset choice

.k8dd.-2
My RX EQ is (and has been for a month) flat - all zeros.
Firmware 2.19 because it sounds so much better on CW than 2.2x
AGC SLP = 2    THR = 5  NR = F2-4
The K3 sounds real close to the way the K2 sounds.
