All,
I hooked up my paddle but seem to get same result in IAMBIC A and B modes. I'm trying to get left paddle produce dits and right one dahs but only seem to get dits when I squeeze (which would be iambic b mode). Just pushing left paddle produces nothing, the right one produces dahs. I ohmed out ok, didn't check for shorts though .. any clues ? thanks de K6TE Wim |

somethings work your end - certainly works if you just touch either
paddle - but I'm sorry, i don't know what else to suggest -- 73 de M0XDF / K3 #174 On 24 Mar 2008, at 20:24, Wim K6TE wrote: > > All, > > I hooked up my paddle but seem to get same result in IAMBIC A and B > modes. > I'm trying to get left paddle produce dits and right one dahs but only > seem to get dits when I squeeze (which would be iambic b mode). > Just pushing left paddle produces nothing, the right one produces > dahs. > I ohmed out ok, didn't check for shorts though .. > any clues ? Both A and B should produce alternating dits and dahs (the difference appears when you let go). It seems that your dit wire is not connected. One possibility (since you checked the continuity) is that the plug is not pushed all the way in. It's pretty crowded down there with everything plugged in! -- 73, Vic, K2VCO Fresno CA http://www.qsl.net/k2vco _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Ray wins the price ...
I had two wires reversed.. their color was not obvious so I'll blame it on that ;-) now all works fine thanks again de K6TE Wim ----- Original Message ---- From: Raymond Anderson <[hidden email]> To: Wim K6TE <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, March 24, 2008 4:45:15 PM Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3: iambic A mode question Hi Wim It sounds like you might have the lead form the shell of the connector (ground) connected to the dash contact, and the dash lead connected to the common. This would give you dashes correctly, but dots only when both are pressed (alternating dots and dashes).
