K3 in different colors

Bob-165
These guys have us beat, they offer their radios tricked out in
several designer colors... I wonder which one works the best?

Just for fun!

RE: K3 in different colors

Jim Sheldon
They may have the K3 beat color wise, but did you look at the prices?  Jeez, 12 grand for the 10 watt version!  They must be using solid gold PC boards!

Looks like an interesting piece of gear. With a starting price of $12,000 for
the 10W version, you should be able to get it in any colour you want. ;-) They
claim the radio has lots of features never before seen in a commercial radio.
I notice they don't have a USB interface but an old RS-232 one. A USB
interface would have been interesting to see. In particular because its hard
to find a modern computer with built-in RS-232 interface these days.

For the price of just one of those 10W radios, you could have 3 fully loaded
K3/100's. If I had that kind of spare cash to put down on a radio, I would
rather go with a K3.

Cheers!

Kevin.

Re: K3 in different colors [OT]

Simon (HB9DRV)
The Hilberling comes in a very nice sturdy case, the very highest quality
'buttons and knobs and things' you can imagine. I like the case but prefer
the layout of the K3's front panel.

As for the price - I hear from a dealer that there are quite a lot of
orders.
