In this weekend's Stew Perry I worked quite a number of call signs I
recognized as belonging to folks from this list. Thanks to all who strained
to pull my QRP squeaker out of the 160M noise. You were undoubtedly among
the select few using Elecraft rigs. (Naturally, all those I couldn't work I
assume were using brand IKY, er ... XYZ.)
Seriously, this was my first 160/QRP attempt, and I must say it was VERY
hard work. I had to develop a completely new strategy. Even though I've made
some very nice DX Qs on 160 in the past, to sustain that kind of
concentration, patience and persistence for the duration of the contest
really took its toll on this old f**t! I'm not at all sure I'll tackle that
again.
Best DX for the weekend (running 5 Watts):
CE1, HR, VE2, VE3, W3, W2
DX I routinely work with 100 Watts but could NOT work with 5:
JA3YBK, KV4FZ, all W1s!! Not a single W1 heard my K3!! :(
Thanks again for the help on your end!
Jim - WS6X
