You can connect the separate receiving antenna to the K3 internal 144 MHz xverter by using the "P3 AUX 144 MHz IN" 3 pin connector.
use pin 2 (RF) and pin 3 (ground). This by-passes the K144XV input and diode TX/RX switching circuitry. Thanks Elecraft for this option,
It's not that easy with rigs like TS790A etc.

K144XV uses it own dedicated ant input (ANT3), so not sharable with HF bands.
