K3 internal 144 MHz xverter separate receive antenna

N9BX
Does the separate antenna jack on the k3, that use on all other bands especially 160 for receive only work with the internal 144 MHz transverter?  I want to hook it up to a lna preamplifier on the receive side.

Re: K3 internal 144 MHz xverter separate receive antenna

Vic Goncharsky
You can connect the separate receiving antenna to the K3 internal 144 MHz xverter by using the "P3 AUX 144 MHz IN" 3 pin connector.
use pin 2 (RF) and pin 3 (ground). This by-passes the K144XV input and diode TX/RX switching circuitry. Thanks Elecraft for this option,
It's not that easy with rigs like TS790A etc.

K144XV uses it own dedicated ant input (ANT3), so not sharable with HF bands.
