[K3] losing FP buttons, one or two at a time

My beloved K3 #1544 has developed a disturbing malady, the front panel
buttons seem to be dying off.  Each time I try to use the rig another
one or two have bitten the dust.  Switch test mode confirms they are no
longer being read by the radio.

Anyone seen this before?  Waiting now on a price from support...

For the benefit of the list, at the suggestion of several folks here I
removed the FP and cleaned the contacts with Deoxit.  Re-assembled and
all keys/buttons now work perfectly.

It appears to me that it might have been a good investment to use
gold-plated header pins and sockets for the front panel instead of
tin-plated...
