I have orderd yesterday a K3 Kit version, I hope is sheepped before four
mounth actually scheduled ! I have a question regarding the microphone that I can use. I have an ICOM HM-36, from photo the connector appear the same. It is usable? If not I have to order the Elecraft MH2 too. The connector may be the same but Icom wires their mic plugs differently. Still, I can't imagine that being much of a challenge to someone who modified a K1 for SSB. :)

The ICOM HM-36 uses an 8 pin connector, just like the K3 - BUT the mic plug wiring is different, so you cannot simply plug it into the K3. One can rewire the mic plug of an HM-36 to work with the K3 as far as the mic and PTT. However, unless the cable has a spare wire it will not be possible to make the up/down buttons work. Icom uses a single connection for both up and down. "Up" grounds the function lead directly while "Down" connects the function lead to ground through 100 Ohms. 73, ...
