If you need to order a dedicated microphone, you might find the Kenwood
MC-43S microphone available locally for less money. The MC-43S is a
dynamic fist microphone that works with the K3 without modification, I
have used one ever since building my K3 some 6 months ago and the audio
is outstanding from it. The "up" and "down" buttons also work in the
later firmware too.

I have orderd yesterday a K3 Kit version, I hope is sheepped before four
mounth actually scheduled !
I have a question regarding the microphone that I can use. I have an ICOM
HM-36, from photo the connector appear the same. It is usable? If not I
have
to order the Elecraft MH2 too.
