K3 modular kit

N5SM
Hey gang

I'm getting ready to order a K3 and have a few questions about whether to
order
the modular kit or the factory assembled version.
My concern is what is involved in tuning and aligning the modular kit?
I have no test equipment and am not very good at this sort of thing.
Could someone that has one tell me just what is involved in the alignment
and tuning of the rig?

I did build K2 5846 with all the options and the only real problem I had
with
it was a solder bridge on the basic K2.
I want the K3 to be first rate and not operate poorly because of my
inability to tune it properly.
So, since I am blind, cripple, and crazy, I don't want to screw it up! Hi
Hi.

The web page says the boards are all aligned and tested,
and the 'kit' will have the same spec's as the factory built
radio.

I guess you have to set some stuff, like what filters
and options you have, etc.

I think the kit is a safe bet...

One question might be how is the warranty handled?  I'm not sure how Elecraft
handles kits, vs. factory built.

If you do get the factory rolled job, look carefully at the credit card you
use...some of them offer double the normal warranty...so if Elecraft offers 1
year, and the card doubles that, then you get two.

I go out of my way to get extended coverage...it's paid off over the years.
