K3 - paddles works, sk doesn't

Paul-285
Anyone have any idea why my paddles work fb when plugged into the
K3's keyer jack, but my straight key doesn't work when plugged into
the key jack?

Nothing.

Mono plug....

I was originally thinking I might need to make a firmware adjustment
that I somehow missed, but your comment encouraged me to check the
cable with an Ohmmeter.

The tip conductor didn't conduct.

I was using a Mono 1/4" molded plug with wire already attached, which
was cut out of an older m-m 6' shielded patch cord from Radio Shack.

I replaced the cable and it works fine.

No firmware configuration was necessary.

Thanks,

Paul

I'm sure this is not the case but are you sure you have it connected to the
key jack and not the "key out" jack?
