Doug,

You 'cheated' and looked at their website - I am the proud recipient of
a paper McMaster-Carr catalog - it is now 7 years old and it took 3
years of requests to get it.  They do have a lot of good hardware stuff
and provide great service.

RE: K3 plastic knurled knobs

Brett Howard
I was planning on running this past my wife once I got my K3...  I'm sure
she'll hook me up with a good solution.  Being a mechanical engineer she's
actually got a paper copy in her office as well.... :)

Funny thing is I'm probably one of very few guys here that when the K3 shows
up my wife will be fighting me on who gets to put it together. :)

She was actually the one that wound all the torroids for my K1...

If she comes up with something really good I'll be sure to share.

Hi Don,

You are right getting a paper catalog was like pulling
teeth.  They are tough to get a catalog from.  But in their defense they
surely are not cheap.  A 10 year old catalog is almost as good as a new
one.  An old catalog number is always good, if the product changes they
will tell you the new best replacement. and any differences. Before I
retired and had tried to get a catalog  by phone they would tell me who
had one I could possibly use.  I did get a hand me down copy.

As a reference book they are worth their weight in gold. The
information in them  and how to select the correct item is priceless.

Service is better than great.  I'm in NJ and can call at 6P
and the order will be at my door the next day for standard UPS rates,
not overnight or extra charges for their prompt service.   I don't ever
recall an "out of stock "  order.

             An amazing outfit.

It turns out that mine is now 11 years old, and still sorta useful,
but their web catalog is OUTSTANDING.  If you've got wireless and a
laptop, you can even browse on the toilet, and given the size of the
paper one, many laptops are lighter.
