I understand the 100w version has to watch its
power level
when used in high duty cycle modes.
Does anyone know about the 10w version? I'll
be doing
RTTY with my K3 at 5w. I assume that is low
enough for
the 10w PA to get along fine, but I'd like to know
for sure.
Couldn't find a mention in the manual.

Actually I thought the 100W version was rated at full power key down for 10 minutes. Personally I wouldn't try it, but I'm sure that's what the spec says. I haven't seen a similar spec for the 10W version. I asked a similar question a few months ago but never received a reply. It's actually relevant even for those who have the PA if they should decide to operaste at a power of 10W, because the PA only kicks in at 12W, so at 10W the small PA is doing all the work. Since it only has the bottom of the case for a heatsink and no fan assistance at all, I'm not at all sure that it could handle 10W key down for 10 minutes, but I'm not going to try to find out the hard way.

Hi Julian
Since I'll be operating QRP at 5w, I doubt the PA will be stressed.
