My K3/100 which is set up with the P3 and then goes to microKeyer II
will turn back on within seconds of pushing the Power switch. I looked at the nabble posts and tried downloading latest firmware....I was only off one, 4.48; now 04.51 is installed. I also disconnected the mK II and removed both the RS232 and ACC plugs from the back of the K3. I also removed the power cable from the P3. The rig still cycles back to on within one or two seconds of pushing the Power button to Off. There has been no changes to the rig setup since last March when I set up the P3...no local t-storms, etc. Any ideas? 73 Tom CX7TT ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Tom,
I just had the same problem here and it turned out to be the Digital I/O board (the one with the RS232 & ACC connectors). If you follow the troubleshooting section in the K3 manual, it has you disconnect everything but power to the K3, then remove the Digital I/O board, the KIO3 board and then the KPA3 board while checking after each removal to see if it powers off normally. I got lucky and found my problem as soon as I removed the Digital I/O board. I had a very early version of that board and fried it while doing the TX Gain Calibration test and popping a fuse on my power cable with the RS232 port still hooked up to my laptop. Dale pointed me to the REMIOUPGD option ($20 USD) on the mods page of the Elecraft site. I received the board in a couple of days and all is back to normal (whatever that is ;-) ). Good luck and hope this helps. 73, Dave W8FGU On 8/6/2012 11:45 AM, [hidden email] wrote: > My K3/100 which is set up with the P3 and then goes to microKeyer II > will turn back on within seconds of pushing the Power switch.
