K3 receive filter center frequency?

Don Putnick-2
So I've been using TX DATA/AFSK A for PSK31 on 20M for quite a while with no problems. With the recent activity on 10M, I thought I'd give PSK31 a try up there. For whatever reason my 2700 Hz filter is centered on 1500 Hz (as I would expect), but my 500 Hz filter is centered on 2210 Hz. It turns out that's the case for all bands except 20M. It's been so long I don't remember what I did to change the default. How do I change all those defaults to 1500 Hz without having to use the shift knob? In other words, I want the bandpass display on the front panel to show centered when the filter is centered on 1500 Hz.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Don,

DATA A and AFSK A are not the same. For PSK31 with a center frequency of
1500 Hz, you should be using the DATA A submode.

In AFSK A, which is really intended for Baudot RTTY only, the normal or
default filter center frequency is controlled by the PITCH setting; with
the default PITCH setting of 2125-170, the normal center frequency is
2210 Hz. There is no PITCH setting that corresponds exactly to a center
frequency of 1500 Hz, although the 1445-170 setting is pretty close
(1530 Hz). In DATA A, the default center frequency is 1500 Hz.

Also, you will find in AFSK A that your dial frequency reading is
different from everyone else's; AFSK A uses the lower sideband and the
dial displays the actual RTTY mark frequency, whereas DATA A uses the
upper sideband and the dial displays the suppressed carrier frequency.

Thanks, Rich. That's exactly the case. At some point in time, I must have configured 20M for DATA A. The other bands were still configured at the factory setting. Happy Holidays! Don NA6Z K3 #5495
