K3 remote issues - launching HRD

Keith Heimbold
I have been experimenting with Remoterig and the K3 for awhile (since early April) after purchasing a system from someone on this reflector. I bought two of the RRC boxes and have had some challenges with getting it working correctly for business travel purposes. It first started with networking issues that change frequently especially since I am using a 3G USB card for remote control connectivity. With that problem solved I now am facing issues with getting HRD and/or TRX manager to launch.

I am wondering if there is an issue with the radio RRC box connecting to the K3 and then be able to launch a control program such as HRD from my laptop. I am using 4.51 K3 software.  I have gone through the settings many times and have the proper configuration set up from what I can see. I am wondering if I am missing something in configuring the K3 RS232 port or in the laptop.  I have a post on the Remoterig forum but thought I would also post here.

I am planning to get another K3/100 extremely soon and will be going to a twin setup though I am a bit concerned that my 3G setup might have some issues and the hotel I stay at for business has pretty miserable Internet connectivity.

Thanks,

Keith

Hello Keith,

I have remoterig working, but couldn´t get my 3G USB work :-)

With the help of Brandon from Elecraft we had it working on the same Network
at my home. I am sending directly to your email a PDF file with the setup.

I have a 3G USB internet modem from Movistar. We couldn´t reach it from my
home Network. Mitch DJ0QN is was helping me a lot trying to have it working,
but we couldn´t till now.

Jorge
