My two previous radios, an Orion and FT-1000MP, both had the capability to adjust the tx audio passband up/down in frequency within the audio spectrum. The MP had carrier offset adjustments in the menu and the Orion has a low freq cutoff adjustment in its menu (which shifts the passband) in addition to its TX EQ adjustment.
I'm concerned that in looking through the K3 manual, I don't see any adjustment of this sort with the K3, either in the normal ssb mode or ESSB. Are ssb tx passband adjustments in the K3 limited to TX EQ? If so, is there a spec on what the tx audio passband is adjusted to at the factory with the stock 2.7Khz filter? Thanks/73, Barry N1EU |

Its adjustment is not yet part of the user interface, but will be. 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. You can also offset the center frequency of the 2.7 and 2.8 kHz filters
to shift the passband slightly. (This also impacts RX.) Combined with the 8 band TX EQ boost/cut of +/- 16 dB you have a lot of flexibility. 73, Eric WA6HHQ ---- Lyle Johnson wrote: >> Are ssb tx passband adjustments in the K3 limited to TX EQ? Now I begin to think and wonder if we should expect the K3 to also retain some of it's unique flavor, something that has made it special among the many. I like most of these suggestions but am concerned that there is too much emphasis being placed on making it the same as 5 or 6 existing other rigs. I'd prefer a catalog of firmware to emulate a variety of different rigs. That way, maybe some of us simpler folks could retain the features that are most meaningful to our way of operating. May I be so bold as to suggest a suite of features for the CW op that is separate to the Phone OP or the Data OP. I see that with the correct firmware dejour we could sweep the market with the ideal SDR rig with a knob on it. Al WA6VNN **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music.
