Dear Elecraft friends,
My K3 #6884 is exhibiting a transmission problem first identified when I couldn’t check in to one of my favorite 75 m nets the other morning on SSB. The behavior is that it is transmitting noise. When I increase MON volume I can hear it quite clearly. This happens on both of two microphones, MH3 and Yamaha CM500. It happens less frequently on digital modes (using line in) and happens for a moment at the beginning of a transmission and then goes away. Here is a link to the audio recording I made of it using my iPhone (m4a file type). I was not transmitting at the time as I was in TEST mode. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lfxo79hhahsj1uh/K9QJS-K3-TX-Monitor-Test.m4a?dl=0 <https://www.dropbox.com/s/lfxo79hhahsj1uh/K9QJS-K3-TX-Monitor-Test.m4a?dl=0> I have done a reset and reloaded all configuration parameters. I am running 5.60 firmware on it and have reloaded the firmware to the K3. Thoughts? Thanks in advance and happy New Year. 73, Hoop K9QJS ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
All,
In the FWIW department, I appear to have resolved my problem. The problem appears to be a poorly seated Line In connector. Removed Line In connector and problem went away. (Menu MIC+LIN = ON). Reseated connector and problem still not present. As a general practice, I’ll use MIC+LIN = OFF in any event. 73 Hoop K9QJS On Jan 1, 2018, at 9:10 AM, Jim Hooper <[hidden email]> wrote: Dear Elecraft friends, My K3 #6884 is exhibiting a transmission problem first identified when I couldn’t check in to one of my favorite 75 m nets the other morning on SSB.
