K3 - use of a Clear Speech unit

Bill-3
I keep reading about the Clear Speech units and wonder if they are a
viable addition of the K3? Any have user comments from experience or use
of these? I am looking for the silver bullet that cleans up lightning
static.

Always on the prowl to improve my "armchair copy" station.

Thanks,

Bill W2BLC K-Line

Re: K3 - use of a Clear Speech unit

I really like mine for mobile operations.   Removes hiss and other disturbances in the audio.   I never tried it with the K3 as it is a mono speaker.

I rarely use Cans anymore to listen to the K3 as I added external speakers and I find that easier to listen that way.   When I used Cans lightning was happening I tired quickly.

If you do go that route I would first get good external speakers the if still needed get the external DSP units as the speakers in the units are good for mobile I am not sure I would be satisfied with them in the shack.

I also have a GAP or BHI unit and the West Mountain has a better sound and speaker.  The GAP sounds distorted at higher volumes when there is louder road noise.

Thanks
