K3 - where is RIT readout?

DOUGLAS ZWIEBEL
If you activate the RIT/XIT, I am guessing that you can monitor that
as an option in the VFO B display.  But...does it show the frequency
or the amount of offset (or can you select that too)?   I'm hoping one
can see the offset in KHz (+/- 0.00).

I "get" the center "detent" LED, but what are the other for (at each
end)?  End of range?

Thanks!

When RIT is ON, it is applied to the VFO A display. You can also see
the amount of offset as you turn the RIT control (+/- 9.99, shown on
the VFO B display). You can check the amount of offset without
adjusting the control by holding the DISP OFS switch (below XIT).

RIT steps can be set to 1 Hz, 10 Hz, or 50 Hz by holding the RATE
switch (below RIT).

If you have RIT or XIT ON, and the offset control is not set at dead
center, the yellow LEDs will tell you whether you have a negative or
positive offset.

When RIT and XIT are both off, the offset control advances VFO A in
large steps, defined by the operator on a per-mode basis (e.g. 2.5 kHz
for SSB, 5/9/10 kHz for AM, etc.).

When you activate RIT there is an RIT icon in between the VFO A and VFO
B displays that becomes visible.

The VFO A display (assuming you are receiving on VFO A) shows the new
operating frequency.  The B display shows the amount of offset.  After a
couple of seconds of no further RIT know turning, the B display reverts
to whatever it was displaying before you turned the RIT knob.

If you subsequently turn the RIT knob, the B display agins shows the
amount of offset until a second or two after you stop turning it.

No, just reminders that you are both enabled and offset.
