K3 with xv-432

Klaus Koppendorfer
i just realized that the xv-432 has an IF from 28 to 32 MHz
I have one xv on order - for use at satellite freq. 435-436
so IF therefore is 30 to 32 MHz
on my K3 I see there is no way to tune K3 up to 32 MHz
I asked Elecraft for a solution, but got no answer until now,

Re: K3 with xv-432

Geoffrey Mackenzie-Kennedy
Klaus,

One approach would be to change the transverter's LO frequency to 406 MHz.
which would give you 434 - 436 MHz coverage with an IF of 28 - 30 MHz,
assuming that the K3 tunes to 30 MHz. Due to moving my shack I have not been
able to look at the transverter's schematic today nor check whether there
would be any spurious problems, but if you would like to discuss this
further please contact me off-list.
