K3 working SPLIT

yo2liw
Hello

I have a question regarding SPLIT operation.

Is there a way to assign the functionality of REV Key to SUB button? I
found quite uncomfortably the use of REV (due to its position/distance)
together with the main knob. I believe it will be easy using SUB in absence
of a sub receiver of course.

I don't believe so since SUB is not a programmable button as is M1-4 etc.  But, I too would like to
be able to program this button as REV in my K3 without a sub rx.

Thank's Brian and Gary. I try the macro's as Brian suggest using M3 for REV
function but it is not really an improvement. I would like to use a key
close to the main tuning knob such as FreqEnt/Fine/Rate but I understand
that only PF1, PF2, M1-M4 (group of keys far from the tuning knob) can be
assign. For example Kenwood has a TF Set key, Yaesu a TXW key,* very
close*to the knob. It is very useful in pile-ups in absence of a
second receiver.
I will read the programming manual, maybe there is a chance to assign a key
which is close to the tuning knob.

Adi,

The SUB button is also used for LINK (long push on the SUB button).

FWIW, I find the REV button is pretty comfortable to use by holding it
with the middle finger at the same time spinning the VFO knob with the
thumb in the finger dimple. I split tune through pileups all the time
like this and have gotten pretty good at it.
