Many thanks indeed to all who have so kindly passed on valuable info and advice on filters . The underlyingt suggestions advise just trying just one initially until the radio is assembled and used for a period. I have done just that with the 5-pole 500 filter - as it happens the cheapest too. I probably will not get any of the AM/FM or better SSB items, I have other radios to do that. The package arrived this morning ( it is 1205 BST - 1105Z now _ and I have just finished checking the contents, all correct. Heigh Ho and its off to work.
