K3S USB Audio Codec

WJ1R
I'm having a problem displaying CW and digital signals from my K3S on DM780's waterfall and could use some help.

My Dell Lattitude E6440 (Windows 7) is detecting the K3S' sound card, but my laptop's Sound Manager does not exhibit any signal at all from the rig's USB Audio Codec, even when the volume level is adjusted upward to 100%.  As a result, my DM780 waterfall is blank, not showing any digital signals, such as PSK, or any CW.

I have selected the K3S USB Audio Codec as the default microphone in my Dell's Sound Manager and in HRD's DM786.  The K3S RS232 menu setting is USB.  The only thing that seems odd to me is that my laptop keeps referring to the K3S microphone USB Audio Codec as "4-USB Audio Codec."  I wonder whether there are other USB Audio Codecs in my laptop because I have 3 USB ports and have tried all three.  I did search for other drivers on my lap top and found three when the K3S is plugged into my laptop, none when it is not plugged in.

The problem appears to be confined to processing the HF signals because the radio control software is working well.  I searched the archives, but was not able to find any previous discussion of this issue.  Does anyone have any thoughts about what might be going on?

Thanks,
