Is it possible to have the K3S internal sound card feed the transmitter
audio and also have the line-in jack feeding it at the same time? I use both the internal sound card and an external sound modem for different data modes but have to unplug the line-in plug when using the K3S internal sound card. When something is plugged in to line-in, the internal sound card is disabled. On the other hand, K3S line-out and the internal USB sound card coexist very nicely and feed received signals down both paths. If anyone is using USB audio in while something is plugged in the line-in jack, please share how. Thanks. 73 Jim KY2D ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
Jim,
Yes, anything plugged into Line In overrides the internal soundcard input. That is by design. BTW, you can have several applications running at once on a single soundcard - you might try that. The multiple sources are mixed by the soundcard. The internal soundcard is good enough for data modes. 73, Don W3FPR On 11/23/2020 4:08 PM, Jim Kutsch KY2D wrote: > Is it possible to have the K3S internal sound card feed the transmitter > audio and also have the line-in jack feeding it at the same time? Audio from both the CODEC and the Line In jack goes to a 74HC4053 switch on the KIO3B - only one "input" of that switch can be selected at a time. The control signal is a simple "ground" created when a plug is inserted into the Line In jack and applied directly to the 74HCT4053 without processing/control by the K3S controller. 73, ...
