K3s RX Out and IF Out

Michael Blake
My K3s kit should arrive next week and I have not been able to discover the answer to these two questions in either the manual or by studying the schematics.  The purpose of these questions is to help me integrate my current SDR Receiver (SunSDR2 NANO) with the K3s to use as a panadapter.

Also, this is a hardware question relative the k3s only.

1.  When using the K3s in the normal fashion as a transceiver is the signal that is present at the ANT1 or ANT2 (whichever is being used) also available at the RX Out jack?  Is this a viable source of a connection to the RF input of the SDR?

2.  If the SDR is connected to the buffered IF Out jack what will the level of the 8215 kHz IF output be?  Stated either as maximum level, dB above the signal level available at the antenna connector or dBm relative to a -73dBm signal at the selected antenna connector.

This is for the K3.  The K3S has a different preamp setup so the numbers
should be scaled accordingly.

With the preamp off, the gain from the K3 antenna to the IF output is
approximately -6 to -7 dB, depending on band and on the particular K3.
With preamp on, the gain from antenna to IF out is approximately +4 to
+5 dB.

That assumes it is not an older K3 that has not had the IF output
modification performed.  In that case, subtract about 10 dB from both
gain figures.
