K3s fill the bands

Tony Estep
The air is crackling with K3s on DXpeditions. Just a few hours ago,
VP6T fired up, and the full team of HK0NA is expected to hit the
airwaves. The pileups for the VP6 are 30 khz wide right now, and the
ones for the HK0's advance team have been similar. Both DXpeditions
are equipped with K3s and have Elecraft as a main sponsor. Check 'em
out.

Tony KT0NY (yes, I did, both of them)

The VP6T station on 12m this morning sounded great. Nice clear crisp audio. Took a patient hour or so to get through, but very much worth it since it is a new entity for me (newbie here).

So far what I heard and not worked on for HK0NA was not as clear or loud the past week plus. Probably propagation issues no doubt or insufficient antenna on my end.

Hi,

HK0NA is a decent signal currently here in CNY on 21275 (5 to 20 up) but his audio is lacking in highs. Hopefully they can get some adjustments to the EQ done. Haven't been able to hear them on other bands yet.

I have heard them on both 40 and 17 and they had reasonable signal strength but whisper levels of audio. Not sure if it is me but seems that a lot of folks have been mentioning this here and elsewhere.
