K4 whining

I did not put down a deposit on a K4. When I heard about the first case of
Covid, that stopped me in my tracks. Yes, I know many weren't so lucky and put $$ down at "Dayton". I watch the videos from Elecraft or read the great synopsis from fellas like Kimo, KH7U(and others) and read the mail on the various email lists here and there to get an idea when the K4 might be available. I am actually holding out for a K4HD (or 2!) to do SO2R contesting. I don't think you'd want even BI-WEEKLY updates from a company struggling to meet demands. What company would do that anyways? If you are not aware of what they've been up against, you must have been living under a rock the past 16 months. Nearly everyone understands what it takes to make a K4 and why they just can't supply one at this moment. I am sure they'd love to ship 5000 units this week, IF THEY COULD. Covid-19, wildfires, staff sickness, staff retirements, price increases, product redesign and probably more that we have no idea about or have any business knowing. So, why don't you fellas please cut them a little slack and if you're really just mad and can't get over it, just apply to get your $$ back and go buy a YaeKenCom radio or 40 year old Heathkit. The whining is getting loud. No amount of it will help. I thank Mike for this subject line, and would request that all whining follow on with this subject line. This will allow me to appropriately send all said subject line to it own email folder. No whining from this guy. I put down full deposit back in 2019 and
hoping I get my K4D comes by end of May. Some indications have been sent out that Elecraft are going for end of May for Group 1, If it doesn't no great loss. Make me an echo of the previous sentiments
in this thread. I laid out a full advance deposit shortly after the K4 was announced & there was an ordering ability offered. I chose a fully loaded K4D and am on the request/waiting list for a HD add-on when that is later made available. To me, it's boorish to complain Elecraft hasn't started shipping the K4 out yet, fulfilling orders. Nobody wants the K4 actively shipping more than Elecraft, it's their livelihoods and for us, it is our hobby: Food & shelter trumps fun every day. The whining is childish and makes no sense. You'd think anyone savvy enough to generate the disposable income to buy a K4 would also be savvy enough to know why such whining is useless.
