K60XV Eureka!

I was probably wrong about C12 having anything to do with it, but I  
pushed a strong wire between the topside pads for pins 7 and 8 and  
apparently broke a hidden solder bridge beneath the plastic casing (!).
Since I, of course, soldered the bottomside pads, I still don't  
understand how a bridge could evolve on the topside but, there you are.

After powering up the unit, I see 60M available on band selection.

Now to put back the heat sink (I hate this part) : )
