KAT-100-1 not responding to K2 with a KAT2

N9KO
I just completed the KAT-100-1.  When I started the Initial Tests of the Alignment and Test Steps on Page 27 the ANT1 and LOW lights on the KAT -100 light up, but there is no action from the relays on the KAT-100 when I change bands. I only hear the relays on the KAT2.  When I change from ANT1 to ANT2 on the K2, the ANT1 light on the KAT-100 remains lit.   Also, when I press tune, the KAT2 relays chatter, the K2 shows a SWR of 1.0 to 1 while the KAT-100's relays are silent and the LEDs show RED, all of the way to the right.  I have the ATU setting on the K2 set to AUTO. Also, during this process I upgraded myu firmware from 2.01h to 2.04p and IOC from 1.02 to 1.09.

1) The RF IN on the KAT-100 is connected to the KAT2 ANT1.  I have antennas connected to both ANT 1 and ANT 2.

2) I double-checked the Control cable from the male pins on one end to the board mounting on the other end, both ways.  By that I mean from the KAT-100 male PINs to the board on the inside of the K2 and vice versa.  Everything OK.

3) I double-checked the resistance against the values on Page 17.  All were within norms, except for U5  pin 3 (67k vs. 45-55k standard) and U5 pin 5 (104k vs. 45-55k standard).

4) I double-checked that all of the pins of U1 are properly seated.

5) Troubleshooting on page 34 mentions checking Z1 and R5.  Both are installed, but other than that I do not know what I should be checking for.

How can I tell if U1 is healthy?  Any suggestions on an approach to tracking this down will be appreciated.

You can use the KAT-2  _OR_ the KAT-100, but not both. Remove the
KAT-2 from the K2 and your KAT-100 should work much better.

Essentially, the KAT-2 and KAT-100 respond to the same Auxbus
commands. If the KAt-2 is found on the bus, it takes precedence over
the KAT-100, which is exactly the situation you have. Removing the
KAT-2 should make things work properly.
