KAT100 ATU power metering - a question from VK7JB

Hi Group,

         

        I've just finished building and calibrating a KAT100 to go with my K2
/ KPA100 combination.  The build was very smooth and the calibration
routine straight forward.  It's tuning my 80m loop, multi-band, just
fine.

        I'd like to check my understanding about the SWR/Power metering with
this K2 + KPA100 + KAT100 set up:

         

        Is the forward power value displayed  on the LCD of the K2 during
TUNE in this setup being measured by the SWR bridge in the KPA100? 
My understanding  is that the forward power value IS provided by the
KPA100 and NOT the KAT100.

        Is the SWR value displayed on the LCD of the K2 during TUNE
 measured  at the KPA100 or the KPA100 bridge?

If the KAT100 is used with the basic K2 (no KPA100), then the KAT100
will provide the forward and reverse power indication and those values
will be displayed by the K2 during a TUNE.

When the KPA100 is connected those forward and reflected values come
from the KPA100.  A similar calculation of SWR is done in the KAT100 to
display the SWR on the LEDs.
