KAT100 & KPA100 for sale

Patrick Taylor-2
As I wait for my K3 I would like to sell my KPA100 (with all upgrades
including the replacement of C-31) and my KAT100-2 both in an EC-2
enclosure. These are together in the EC-2 and are connected to and
communicate with the K2 through the aux bus cable. Your K2 must have a KIO2
for this combination to work.

Initial cost of the KPA-100, KAT100-2 and EC-2 was $667 I will sell for $550
including shipping anywhere in the CONUS.

Please communicate off-list to [hidden email]

K1 trouble shooting question

DW Holtman
Hello,

While waiting on my K3, I decided to order and put together a K1. The whole
procedure went great. The receiver worked great and the alignment went
smooth. After I installed the transmitter parts, there is no receive. First
I'm going to check for wrong parts, cold solder joint etc.  Looking at the
schematic drawings, the receive signal path goes through D10, D11  and D12
which were all installed during the transmitter parts installation section.

Does anyone have any other suggestions/ideas?

Best,
DW Holtman

Re: K1 trouble shooting question

DW Holtman
Hello,

Found the problem, as I strongly suspected, it was a mistake on my part. On
page 42 it says to install a "100 uH choke at RFC2 and RFC5". I did not read
the complete sentence and only installed the choke at RFC2.

Thanks for the help.

Best,
DW Holtnan

RE: K1 trouble shooting question

crstrode
What other "spare parts" do you have left after building your new K1?

My K1 (#2476) seems to be running A-OK.   However, there is a bunch of stuff leftover, including a 100K resistor - sure would like to know what that darned resistor is for!
